Well Friday the rest of So. IL seemed to get their power back on. The boys went back to their mom's and Bill and I got the house back together. We were without power from Friday until Monday. Everything in the deep freeze thawed and we lost quite a bit in the fridge as well. We just didn't have enough room in the cooler. :( We had a kick butt cookout and invited as many people as we could to help us not let it go to waste. Friday I called the State Farm hot line and the girl told me I had a $500 deductible on my homeowners. My groceries might total out @ $200 max if that. We didn't have any car or house damage so.....yeah according to what she was telling me we are on our own with groceries. I am going to call my insurance agent Monday and double check. Bill says not to worry and that things will be OK but I am very aggravated. Not so much with the insurance people, I expect that but that we were unprepared...and that is my job!
I have been lucky as my workplace had generators and I was working my normal days..Many people weren't so lucky. I had the option to not come in due to circumstances but I would not get paid...not an option. There weren't many of us but we did just fine. I work in product information and not sales anymore so it was not as busy.
It stormed again last night but I didn't let it get me too down as I love storms. Yes there is still standing water in parts of the garden and it is a mess. It is suppose to be nice and sunny and slightly warm for the next couple days. Actually, it's not suppose to rain again until Thursday!! I am hoping to be able to get it planted either Monday or Tuesday...Wed at the very latest. So much to catch up on. I hope that everyone is well where they are.

It was bound to happen
So I finally snapped. I was doing ok plugging along and then Bill started talking about he was unpacking the boxes in 6 days and that we will just have to stay here another year and try again. (So then my wedding would be effectively off til then) The house is a mess, I was trying to cook dinner and do laundry and clean. Then I found that the cats had tipped over the cat box and I lost it. Threw the vacuum, screamed about the state of my world and how no one is doing their jobs in the house, how tired I was about cleaning all the time and no one helping and how much I hated living here now and threatened to get rid of my cats and dissolved into a puddle of tears in the bathroom. Bill and Teen have never seen me lose it and I don't think they knew what to do. Bill had to go in to work for overtime (he doesn't get many chances to) and he tried to put me right before he had to run. So I saw him off and grabbed a shower...allowed the Teen to do my hair and got out of the damn house. I went to the local cafe and chowed on Hummus Kalaya and Teen had a 4 cheese mini pizza. Went to say happy birthday to my friend Maja and then came home. I envision that Wed will be better as I have a plan to repot some of the seedlings and be outside as much as I can.

Buying a house sucks
I packed a little the other day. A friend of S's brought a load of nice boxes (she works in a bookstore) to help us out. I got everything done on my list Monday. So my homeowners insurance will be $400 a year. Taxes should actually be the same amount as well. I go through State Farm and I need to pay them the first year up front but we STILL don't have a solid actual date for closing.. The house is a major cause of stress and Bill and I are really feeling it. I'm feeling like I'm getting screwed by the banker guy as he hasn't been knowledgeable on the Rural Development loan I am going with. Bill is not pleased with him or the situation either and has voiced his opinions thereof to me. I'm the one that's dealt with the banking stuff, me on my own(As I am the only one on the paperwork), and now I worry that I've put us into a bad situation somehow or that we are about to be royally screwed. I do not know how I can rectify this situation /this nagging feeling of not having a clue of what's going on. I am going to call banker boy in the morning tomorrow and also see if there is someone in Rural Development that I can talk to so I know what the hell is going on or what my options are.

Me vs Mold, Round 2

So I made a new batch of noodles and what didnt go into dinner went to the freezer..take that mold! Yeah, dinner itself turned out splendid. It was my first time making it and didnt have a recipe, it went so great that Bill had me create a recipe card for it :D

MOLD!
Yeah so remember that I was complaining about having too much cayenne. Tonight I lost almost an entire summer's worth of cayenne peppers to mold. I had a jar full of air dried peppers and I was looking at them and noticed that several were moldy so they all had to go. It could be that the jar let in moisture or that a couple weren't as dry as I thought when I put them in the jar. I'm kinda pissed and now I want that food dehydrator. In good news I had just picked the last batch of peppers before the frost hit (whats left out there now is ruined) so they are being oven dried as we speak. I've never tried oven drying though I have read about it. Coincidently I went back to Rural King tonight to price the 22qt pressure canner $93.99), the 16qt is $79.99 and saw that the Nesco food dehydrator was on sale for like $30. Hmmmm I think the kitchen gods might be speaking to me.

Not saving
Haven't been online lately but I dont really know who all reads this. I have a job interview at 1:30pm and I have mixed feelings about it. It's the second phase of their interview process. I've been a little melancholy lately and I had to pitch 2 pairs of jeans due to total destruction in the past 2 weeks. My sneakers are starting to fall apart I hate buying new clothes and shoes. I also needed a new pair of dressy pants. Im trying to save money not spend anymore grrr.
